Dallas, TX., Sunday,
November 28, 2010. It
was just earlier this
month that Jerry Jones
fired Wade Phillips in
the middle of the
season.
It was a move
that left some Cowboys fans in shock and had
others cheering.
Since then,
Phillip's has kept his silence with local
media until Saturday, when he broke that
silence, talking to Channel 8.
Phillips can't
stay away from the football field. We found
him in the stands watching the Class 3-A
Division Two playoff game between Argyle and
Gilmer.
"I've had a lot
more time now... I love football, I like all
kinds of football, but Texas high school
football is where I started, so it's nice to
come out to a game," he said.
It hasn't been
long since he left the Cowboy's sidelines
and even with new interim coach, Jason
Garrett, at the wheel, the former coach is
still a fan.
"I'm excited
about them... I'm disappointed about
Thanksgiving but we had some earlier like
that, where it felt like we should have won,
but we didn't," he said.
Phillips didn't
have much to say about Jones's unprecedented
move of firing him in the middle of a
one-and-seven season.
