Wade Phillips Not Pleased With 2-Minute
Offense, Defense
The Dallas Morning News
Irving, TX., Thursday,
June 01, 2010. Last week's emphasis in the
organized team activities was the red zone. This
week the focus is on the two-minute offense and
defense, which Wade Phillips wasn't pleased with
on Tuesday.
Dez Bryant had a pass go through his hands for
an interception on the 3 going into the end
zone. Jon Kitna had a pass intercepted by
Terence Newman and the defense failed to cover
tight end John Phillips down the seam for a
touchdown throw from Stephen McGee.
"We need to clean some things up," Phillips
said, "but this is the first day of it and we'll
do it again tomorrow and we'll do it until we do
it right ... Being off for a few days for
whatever reason they weren't as focused in and
we're not doing a good enough job coaching wise
to get things right at this point."
The Cowboys will have a workout at the stadium
tomorrow and get a second crack at the
two-minute stuff. Does Phillips worry about an
NFC East spy taking a self-guided tour while
practice is going on?
"If they watched today's practice, they wouldn't
worry about us," Phillips said.
